A center focusing on the social determinants of women’s health to move women and girls towards health equity across the lifespan.
The Center conducts workshops, staff trainings, group coaching, and conferences on a range of women’s health issues from a social justice perspective. Additionally, WHERC connects women to patient navigation assistance, health plan enrollment, financial counseling, and other resources to help improve their wellbeing. Through conducting community engagement research, the Center collaborates with cross sector partners to collect data on health disparities.
Who We Serve
Our target audiences are vulnerable women and girls, including low to-moderate-income women, women of color, as well as lesbian, bisexual, and queer women.
Mission and Goals
The Center’s mission is to move vulnerable women and girls toward optimal health and economic security across the lifespan. WHERC advances health equity by addressing health disparities beyond a gender and genetics lens through the lens of the social determinants of women’s health.
