The Luskin Center for Innovation (LCI) conducts research and outreach that informs environmental policies for the health of people and the planet. Researchers evaluate environmental policies and share findings with policymakers.

We often focus on California to support a model of environmental leadership that is relevant globally.Our work has influenced dozens of local, state, and national policies for healthier communities and a more sustainable world.

Our mission is to unite UCLA scholars with forward-looking civic leaders to solve environmental challenges confronting our community, nation, and world. We advance bold goals including a carbon-free economy for California and the rest of the nation while protecting the most vulnerable from climate change.
