The UCLA History Department is well known for its public-facing centers and programs that engage local, state and national issues of great importance, such as the Luskin Center for History and Policy, the Public History Initiative, Million Dollar Hoods and the “Why History Matters” series. In step with the UCLA Strategic Plan, we seek to concentrate our resources and expand our many public, community engagement activities under the rubric of a new program titled “Making History in Los Angeles,” located in the new UCLA Downtown.
