Each year, Design for Sharing brings thousands of young people from Los Angeles-area public schools to CAP UCLA venues for free performances and interactive and educational art-making activities during the school day.
Services Provided
Free performances, workshops, periodic short-term residencies, educational materials and activity guides.
Who We Serve
Design for Sharing (DFS) programs are available to any K-12 public school in the greater Los Angeles area. Our workshop activities provide an opportunity for students to interact with artists in an interactive or behind-the-scenes setting.
Mission and Goals
As the K-12 Arts Education program of UCLA's Center for the Art of Performance, DFS connects students to dynamic performers and arts educators. We believe the arts unlock our empathy and creativity, allowing us to learn from each other in meaningful ways, and that a visit to a professional venue on a University campus can spark inspiration.
