The California Environmental Legislation & Policy Clinic provides a hands-on opportunity for UCLA Law students to engage with state senators and assembly members, legislative staffers, advocates, and stakeholders on cutting-edge environmental issues. We have worked closely with elected officials in Southern California including State Senator Ben Allen, Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia, former Speaker of the Assembly Anthony Rendon, State Senator Henry Stern, and U.S. Rep. (and then-State Senator) Sydney Kamlager-Dove.

Through hands-on partnerships with government agencies, the California Policy Lab (CPL) performs rigorous research across issue silos and builds the data infrastructure for government impact. We focus our work in six policy areas: education, criminal justice reform, poverty and the social safety net, labor and employment, health, and homelessness and high needs populations.
